Exhibition Of Willowlamp’s Latest Collection Of Designer Chandeliers Proves A Success

Monday 2nd October, 2017

The month of September saw us celebrating the launch of our brand new 2018 collection of designer chandeliers with an exhibition at the Youngblood Gallery in Bree Street, Cape Town.

We opened the exhibition for public viewing on the first Thursday of September in order for the event to coincide with Cape Town’s very popular First Thursdays monthly event. It may have been a relatively cold and wet evening out in the CBD but that did not stop Cape Town’s art enthusiasts from coming out in their numbers to enjoy an evening exploring the city’s favourite galleries.

Three weeks later, we wrapped up our time at the gallery with a private and more intimate viewing. Our special guests enjoyed a glass of Krone MCC and a selection of canapés, whilst Creative Director, Adam Hoets shared some insight into the inspiration behind his new collection, which consists of 22 individual pieces from 12 design families.

Our new collection of designer chandeliers mainly draws its inspiration from two major large-scale commissions that have recently been completed. The completion of these projects not only motivated some of the new of designer chandeliers, but also gave Adam time to do what he does best, and that is to design. The results of this can be seen in a refreshing new collection which not only includes complex, large-scale designs, but also comprises of some smaller more accessible pieces that have a strong focus on the sculptural beauty of more intricate designs.

We would like to take this opportunity to extend a special thank you to the Youngblood team who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of our event, as well as to all those who attended and made the evening so enjoyable.
